“He told his wife Sangeeta to get his pistol for him. Sangeeta got it and he removed the magazine from the pistol,” the officer said.

Tyagi reportedly pointed the gun at his son Hemant then at his daughter and wife. Finally, he placed the pistol on his temple, said the officer.

“He even assured them that nothing would happen before pulling the trigger. The bullet was lodged in the head,” said a senior police officer.

Shivani ran to her uncle’s house and informed him. He rushed Tyagi to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
