The south district police have arrested a property dealer for running a prostitution racket from his house in the posh Greater Kailash-I area. Three prostitutes have also been arrested. The police have recovered pornographic CDs, stimulating pills and condoms from the premises.
The accused has been identified as Ashok Sethi (58). He was allegedly running a brothel from his three storeyed house in D Block, GK-I .
He had been carrying on the illegal trade for the past one year from the ground floor of his house. The rest of the two floors had been rented out.
Neighbours told the police that they had no inkling that a flesh trade was being run from the house.
The police said that Sethi’s wife and children live in Canada. He was living here alone and was running a property dealing business for the past several years.
“He made the services available to the people whom he knew personally or who came to him through some reference. He maintained complete secrecy around the racket,” said HGS Dhaliwal, DCP (south).
The police said that the accused had hired fairly educated women in the age group of 19-30 years working for him who had come to Delhi from UP, Jaipur and Darjeeling.
On Wednesday, a police team raided the house and arrested four people. A policeman acting as a decoy customer entered the house and fixed the deal for Rs 2,000. When the deal was finalized, the police team swooped into action and arrested the accused.
“A case under ITP Act has been registered at the GK I police station and the antecedents of the accused are being verified,” said Dhaliwal. Further investigations are on in the case.
