Bollywood takes piece of Anna pie
New Delhi: Celebrities and artists continued to lend support to Anna Hazare's anti-graft campaign with the father-daughter duo of Kabir and Pooja Bedi, along with singer Kailash Kher, being the latest to turn up at Ramlila Ground.
The crowds went berserk when Kher took the stage as well as the microphone. Kabir Bedi said corruption has spread in the country like a cancer and the government should work on a strong bill against it.
“Why have they sent such a weak bill to parliament?” he asked. Actress Pooja Bedi said a strong Lokpal bill was the answer to corruption but the country has sadly been waiting for a Lokpal for 40 years. “Do we have to wait for another 40 years”? she said. pti
Metro rides on Anna wave
New Delhi: Delhi Metro has given a new platform to Anna's supporters. Since Sunday afternoon, Hazare’s supporters wearing ‘I am Anna’ caps and holding the tricolour have been raising slogans on Metro platforms and inside Metro trains to persuade other commuters to join their cause.
Officials said Delhi Metro saw over 14lakh footfalls on Sunday — about 3lakh more than the number of commuters on Sunday.
