"We are all very very happy. It is a sign of peace and prosperity. Where this goes, it gets prosperity and we have showed that Hindustan is better than the best," said a beaming Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who received the baton from S.P.S. Dhillon, Joint Director General (CWG Organising Committee), at the Secretariat.
The baton, which arrived in the capital yesterday having criss-crossed the world, earlier reached Qutub Minar where a rousing welcome was given.
Several MLAs were seen scrambling to hold the baton and pose for the shutterbugs at the Secretariat hall where school children were also present. The entire cabinet of Dikshit was also present.
"Today is a very very happy day for everyone. The baton which started its journey in London last year. It has gone across the world and also in our country and it finally come to Secretariat, the chief minister told reporters.
