Rajnath Singh and BJP leader Vijay Jolly represented the party at the funeral of the 85-year-old who died of multiple organ failures Saturday after protracted illness.

The BJP said Koiral's death was a "great tragedy". "It is like the passing away of another Gandhian era in the history of India and Nepal," BJP president Nitin Gadkari said in a statement.
