The North Delhi Municipal Corporation is leaving no stones unturned before Ramdev takes centre stage at Ramlila Maidan on Thursday. The municipal body has selected about 100 people, including a medical team and a sanitation team, to oversee the crowd.

“The medical and the sanitation team will function in three shifts so that the ground is manned at all times. Trucks and other vehicles will be employed to collect garbage each day,” said Mahender Nagpal, leader of the House.

After Wednesday’s downpour, the ground has become muddy. The corporation has plans to lay fresh earth to level it. Makeshift toilets and temporary water tanks have been built.

The Bharat Swabhiman volunteers have started laying waterproof pandals to cover the ground.

Free kitchens by Ramdev supporters have already become operational.
