Recall all notices to Swamy: HC
The Delhi High Court on Monday asked the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to "recall" all show-cause notices issued to Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy and his family members regarding the demolition of an alleged illegal structure constructed at their house in Nizamuddin.
The Delhi High Court on Monday asked the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to "recall" all show-cause notices issued to Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy and his family members regarding the demolition of an alleged illegal structure constructed at their house in Nizamuddin.
“The only direction that can be passed at the moment is to order the ASI to recall its impugned notices and issue a fresh notice, giving details and discussing the issues raised by petitioners within two weeks," Justice Rajiv Shakdher said.
The court disposed of the plea filed by Swamy, his lawyer wife Roxna Swamy and their two daughters seeking quashing of seven show-cause notices issued by the ASI. According to the notices, they have violated a provision of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Rules by raising an illegal structure in their house.
