A 26-year-old labourer was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend in a fit of rage after the victim refused to share a chillum of ganja he was smoking with his friends. The incident took place in Daryaganj on Friday, police said.
“The victim has been identified as Ram Babu, who hailed from Bihar’s Begusarai district. He was stabbed to death by his friend Suresh,” said a senior police officer.
According to police, Babu was sitting with his friends at a public park when Suresh reached the spot.
“A heated argument broke out between the two, which soon turned violent,” the officer said. It was during the violent scuffle that Suresh stabbed Babu with a knife. “Babu was stabbed in the stomach and shoulder. He was rushed to the Lok Nayak Hospital where he was pronounced brought dead on arrival,” said the officer.
Suresh was arrested from the Aruna Asaf Ali Marg area on Saturday.
