In a case of road rage, a goods van driver, Gaurav Kumar, was allegedly killed in a scuffle after his vehicle accidently hit a school van.

The incident took place around 2:30 pm in the Ramesh Nagar area in Kirti Nagar. According to police, 24-year-old Kumar was driving a Mahindra Champion van when his vehicle hit the school van from behind.

“The driver of the school van and the victim got into a fight after the incident,” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak to the media.

The driver of the school van allegedly pushed the victim who hit his head on the divider on the road. The school van driver then fled from the spot.

The helper of the goods van took the victim to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The police initially registered a case of accident but after the helper narrated the incident, a case of murder was registered.

The police are searching for the school van driver and investigations are on. The police said Kumar was a resident of Basai Dalapur.
