Rs 3200 crore needed for relocation of 117 MP villages

A total of 735 villages are located in the protected areas in the Central state and so far 86 villages have been moved out, State Finance Minister Namo Narain Meena, who is currently holding charge of the environment ministry, said in reply to a written question in Rajya Sabha.

Giving details of the fund release for the relocation since 2006, he said that Rs 2.30 crore, Rs 20.40 crores, Rs 58.19 crores were provided to the state respectively in 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09.

Madhya Pradesh has six tiger reserve states, including Panna, Pench, Satpura, Bandhavgarh and Kanha national park.
