It looks like war between Safdarjung Hospital's medical superintendent Dr Jagdish Prasad and south district Deputy Commissioner of Police H.G.S. Dhaliwal.
Responding to an FIR accusing him of cheating a visually-impaired paraplegic villager from Bihar of Rs 18.25 lakh after promising him and his relatives a government job, Dr Prasad alleged he was being framed for ‘refusing admission’ to a relative of DCP Dhaliwal on July 2.
Dr Prasad gave a written complaint against Dhaliwal to the Commissioner of Police Y.S. Dadwal on Tuesday.
Delhi Police denied the allegations.
"No relative of Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H.G.S. Dhaliwal has ever applied for admission in any course at Safdarjang Hospital,” said Rajan Bhagat, spokesperson of Delhi Police.
“The false statement by the MS has been made to mislead and take the attention away from the investigation into charges of cheating leveled by the physically challenged persons belonging to the native district of Dr. Jagdish Prasad,” Bhagat said.
On August 28, the Sarojini Nagar police registered an FIR against Prasad after probing a complaint filed by the alleged victim, Jagat Narayan Prasad.
Dr Prasad allegedly took the money in installments of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh from Jagat after first promising him a contract of running the hospital canteen.
