After heavy showers lashed the city on Tuesday, several areas reported waterlogging.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) received 51 complaints of waterlogging from across the capital, with the South zone and the Central zone being the worst affected.
The MCD, on its part, reiterated that heavy rainfall across Delhi and construction waste (malba) at construction sites related to the Games was worsening the problem.
"There is construction work on in some major drains in South Delhi. Also, all over the roads, you can see construction material lying around.
All this leads to further blockage of the flow of water.
With the Games round the corner, everyone is trying to finish work on time," said a senior MCD official.
A road on Nyaya Marg, that houses several embassies, caved in on Tuesday, developing a four-feet-deep crater.
A truck was crossing it in the evening, when its rear wheel got entangled in the crater.
The cause for the cave-in is yet to be ascertained.
