The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) to provide details of action taken on whistleblowers’ complaints of harassment following expose by them.

A bench headed by Justice TS Thakur wants to know whether CVC has conducted an independent probe on receiving such .

Information has also been sought on whether CVC has taken any action to protect whistleblowers on receiving their complaints or harassment through disciplinary proceedings on frivolous charges.

The court also ordered the CBI to file a status report regarding agency’s action on the allegations made by whistleblower Satyendra Dubey.

Dubey was killed in November 2003 when he exposed corruption in NHAI, where he worked as civil engineer, claiming financial and contractual irregularities in the Golden Quadrilateral (GQ) project initiated during the NDA tenure.
