Two Class XII students of a government school have been apprehended for allegedly stabbing their friend to death in Karawal Nagar area of northeast Delhi on April 3.
Police said the two schoolboys planned to kill victim Hanni as he had developed a relationship with a girl whom one of the boys liked.
Juveniles Rahul Kumar and Ashish Kumar (names changed) were apprehended by the police on Monday.
Hanni was found with multiple stab injuries at a vacant plot in Karawal Nagar. He was declared brought dead when he was taken to hospital. Police then registered a case of murder and started probing the case.
Collecting door-to-door information, the cops came to know that two young boys, around 17 years of age, had been seen running away from the plot where Hanni was found with injuries. They zeroed in on the suspects based on descriptions given by locals.
Last Friday, Rahul and Ashish saw Hanni coming from his Karawal Nagar house. They dragged him to the vacant plot and stabbed him. Hanni tried to alert his neighbours, but by the time a neighbouring lady arrived, his attackers had fled.
