Amity International School, Mayur Vihar organized Vasudha, a Science Exhibiton which provided a platform to the young students to come out with research based, innovative projects on the theme 'land resources- use for prosperity save for prosperity'.
Chairperson, Amity Schools, Dr. Amita Chauhan applauded the efforts put in by the students and urged them to explore nature with a rational outlook without harming it. The event was also graced by eminent scientists and professors specialising in various fields as judges. Principal, Sarita Aggarwal welcomed the guests. Students displayed research- based projects on a variety of themes such as land reclamation, making bricks through ash, using water hyacinth for fertilizer, paper making and biodegradable polythene and on effects of different kinds of trees to reduce noise pollution.
To celebrate and commemorate its Diamond Jubilee, DPS Society and Delhi Public School, Mathura Road hosted an inter school language festival celebrating and highlighting the richness and beauty of the Arabic and Urdu language. Inter-school literary and cultural competitions, an exhibition and a power-point presentation were conducted under the able guidance of the Principal, M.I. Hussain and his staff. Chief Guest, His Excellency Faisal Hassan Trad, Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to India accompanied by the Presiding Officer, Ashok Chandra, Chairman DPSS and other dignitaries inaugurated the event. This was followed with the prize winning 'Qawwali'. The student exchange programme between DPS and the four year old Arab School in Delhi presented the right platform for interaction and growth. The evening ended with a vote of thanks by the Vice Principal, BK Lamba.
Springdales School, Pusa Road held a Book Fair which was inaugurated by the Chairperson, Springdales Education Society, Dr. Rajni Kumar. The theme for this year's book week was 'Ushering change into the classroom'. During the book week, each class made boards on various aspects of the theme. Book week is an annual feature which culminates with the exhibition and book fair. Various publishers set up their stalls and students are encouraged to buy and read books.
