Delhi Police are searching for four men suspected to have killed the two women whose bodies, one of them headless, were found at two spots in south Delhi’s Munirka within the same week last month.

Police sources said the two women were sex workers and residents of Delhi. They knew each other for long. Investigations revealed that the women were killed by four men, including one who used to find clients for them, over a dispute about payments.

Four Delhi Police teams are camping in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and areas bordering Nepal to arrest the four men, officials said.

Joint commissioner of police (southeastern range), RP Upadhyay, also clarified that the two Munirka murders have no links with four other murders reported at four police stations in south Delhi between November 30 and December 5.

“Except the two Munirka murders, none of the four other murders are linked to each other. They are stand-alone and unfortunate crimes committed by different people,” said Upadhyay.

On November 18, the mutilated body of a woman was discovered at 4.30am near the Baba Gang Nath temple at Munirka village. A passerby spotted the body dumped near a wall inside a white plastic bag that was covered with a black polythene bag.

A week later, the headless corpse of a woman— possibly in her mid-30s — with a tattoo of a leaf on the lower neck was pulled out of a sewer on the ground floor of a Munirka building.

Initial probe indicated the body was dumped there almost a week before.

“We have solved the Amar Colony murder case where the hacked body of a woman was found on December 3. She was murdered by her live-in partner who has been arrested,” added the joint CP.

A senior police officer said they identified the woman whose body was found under a car at a parking lot in Pushp Vihar on November 30. The male victim of Sangam Vihar whose body was discovered on December 2 was also identified, though the accused in both the murders are missing, the officer said.

Only the woman whose body with the face battered and disfigured found in Sunlight Colony on December 5 is unidentified. A vagabond was caught in a compromising position with the body.

Upadhyay said their teams were conducting raids to arrest the suspects. “Their arrest will help investigators ascertain the exact sequence of events that led to the two murders,” he said.
