A day after the deadly terror strike at Delhi High Court, security arrangements were beefed up at all six district courts along with the Supreme Court and the Delhi High court.

The security at the high court appeared stronger, as policemen kept a close eye on each and every person entering the court premises.

While addressing the full court reference, attended by all the judges of the high court and lawyers to condole the death of blast victims, Chief Justice Dipak Misra said, "The incident was intended to paralyse the functioning of the high court that dispenses justice without fear or favour. But because of the total solidarity of the courageous members of the Bar and my esteemed colleagues, the court work functioned at 2.15pm." Fresh arrangements

At the Patiala House court complex, Delhi police officials could be seen all over the place. From frisking, to checking of baggage by metal detectors, the policemen could be seen scanning each and every individual entering the court premises.

On the contrary, security arrangement at the Tis Hazari court looked lackadaisical, despite being Asia’s largest court complex. The court has nearly 350 court rooms and is daily visited by over one lakh people, including lawyers and litigants. Rajiv Khosla, spokesperson of the Co-Ordination Committee of All Bar Associations, expressed dissatisfaction over steps to ensure safety of lawyers and litigants in the court complex.

Security has also been tightened at the Supreme Court, less than a kilometre away from the Delhi High Court, where the terror attack left 12 people dead. Both lawyers and litigants were today being subjected to strict security checks and frisking.

Additional security personnel have been deployed at every gate and metal detectors have been put in place.
