The Delhi Police have arrested a sharpshooter of a gang for allegedly killing a dreaded criminal from a rival gang after abducting him from outer Delhi's Kanjhawala.
The sharpshooter allegedly belonged to the Neetu Dabodha gang.
The accused and his associates had also shot a Delhi Police head constable who had attempted to frisk them while they were returning after the murder on the intervening night of November 25 and 26. The criminal they had murdered belonged to the rival Neeraj Bawana gang.
SBS Tyagi, DCP (crime), said Sandeep, the sharpshooter, was arrested for murdering gangster Ajay Kumar.
A sophisticated pistol, two pistol magazines and 10 live cartridges were recovered from him.
The police have now launched a manhunt to nab the main members of his gang - Dabodha and Sandeep Chitana, who carry a reward of R1 lakh each on their head.
During interrogation, the sharpshooter told the police that he and his associates Dabodha and one Pradeep had hatched the conspiracy to kill Kumar.
"As per their plan, Dabodha and Pradeep abducted Ajay and took him to the farmlands of Tatesar village, where Sandeep was already present. Together, they killed Ajay," said Tyagi.
Later, they dumped the body and then went their separate ways. On their way home, Dabodha and another of his associate were stopped by head constable Ram Kishan for routine check at the Jaunti picket.
The duo then killed the head constable as he had tried to frisk them, Sandeep told police during interrogation.
