Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has asked the Public Works Department to speed up work on its projects related to the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Dikshit has also directed the PWD to install uniform signs on roads.

Dikshit was chairing a review meeting of the department's projects. The department will commission six important projects within next few months.

The Geeta Colony Bridge across the Yamuna will be opened to traffic this month. The flyover at Mangolpuri is also going to be opened this month.

The underpass at ITO Chungi is expected to be completed by December.

Similarly, a road overbridge on the Delhi-Saharanpur Railway Line will be commissioned in September.

The Mukarba Chowk grade separator is to be completed in November, while the Bhera Enclave underpass is going to be commissioned in November.

Dikshit also instructed the PWD officials to ensure that road signages in the city looked uniform.

Of the proposed 42 foot overbridges, 35 have been cleared by the subway committee of the Delhi Government.

Escalators will be provided on 13 of them.
