Shooting in south Delhi, one killed
A 22-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Chanakyapuri area in New Delhi on Sunday afternoon, reportedly over a financial dispute. Another person was also injured in the incident.

According to the police, the deceased, Ankit Menocha was in a black Santro car with Surender Kumar (24). “They had gone to a car dealer’s shop in Karol Bagh. There they got into a fight with two people, Pushkar and Sushil. While they were returning, unidentified assailants in a Tata Indica car fired at them,” said a senior police officer. The police are on the lookout of Pushkar and Sushil who are absconding.
Two round hit Menocha, one on the head, the other on the back. A bullet grazed Kumar as well. “On Sunday, they went to collect to collect Rs 10 lakh from the car dealer and left after an argument. They were attacked on the stretch between Buddha Garden and Dhaula Kuan,” the officer said.
Menocha was a resident of Mehrauli and a son of a plastic frames manufacturing unit owner. “His friend is a financer and he had to get money from a person in Karol Bagh. Ankit had nothing to do with it,” said Raju Arora, one of Ankit’s family friends.
