In the first interview since his suspension as IPL commissioner, Lalit Modi, told Times Now that the second show-cause notice sent to him by the BCCI was all fiction and he would file his reply, to the first notice, on Monday.

Excerpts

Your response to the allegations by the BCCI and ECB that you have been up to something that is not good for cricket at large.

In these matters I’d rather not talk and let the truth come out. We will know who had batted for Indian cricket and from when. It’s not something new, you know I am the one who battled for Indian cricket and that is all in public domain. Nobody knows that better than the media.

You played a crucial role in tightening screws on the ICL. In this light, did you actually meet the ECB officials?

What’s in the show-cause notice is not speculation, it’s fiction. Anyway, that’s a matter of detail. We will get into that.

Are you looking to being a part of the petition AC Muthiah has filed (against N Srinivasan)?

The matter is sub-judice. As of now, I have just asked for the files. I just want to have a look and see what’s it all about. I know there’s more than what meets the eye.

Nine counties have denied the allegations made by ECB chairman Giles Clarke. They have said it was an informal meeting in Delhi where you made no secret offers?

These are type of things that you can’t hide. The truth will always prevail. If somebody jumps the gun and does something, I can’t do anything about that.

Could you tell us what exactly has happened with the ECB?

I don’t want to comment on the ECB issue. Many emails have been leaked in the last 24 hours even before I got the notice. People are trying to malign, put words (into my mouth), but these are small issues. People who are doing this don’t know what they are doing.

When do we see you replying to the first BCCI notice?

I will have the first reply out on Monday.
