Showers bring relief to Delhiites on weekend
In a respite from the heatwave, Delhiites woke up to showers and a pleasant weather on Sunday. Met Department has predicted rains over several areas of northern and western part of the country in the next few days.delhi Updated: Jun 14, 2015 13:22 IST
Sunday morning showers finally provided succour to the residents of Delhi after weeks of blistering high temperatures, bringing down the mercury level by several degrees over the weekend.
After a massive dust storm on Saturday, intermittent showers continued and the city received moderate rainfall of 25.7mm. Light rains are expected to continue for the next couple of days.

Palam station recorded 37.0mm of rainfall, Lodhi Road 24.8mm and Aya Nagar 51.7mm since Saturday morning, said a Met official.
The rain brought down the minimum temperature to 20.5°C, seven degrees below the normal for this time of the season, he said.
The maximum temperature is expected to be 38°C. The minimum and maximum temperatures on Saturday were recorded at 29°C and 39.7°C respectively.
The humidity level rose because of the rain and was recorded at 100% at 8.30 am. Overall, Sunday would remain pleasant with a partly cloudy sky and rain. Thundershowers are expected in some parts of the city, the official said.
