Worried about the deteriorating health of Anna Hazare, his supporters have now started a signature campaign, urging for him to be put on drip.
On Wednesday morning, the organisers formed a group of five teams consisting of three volunteers, who were making rounds of the Ramlila Ground, asking them to sign up.
All volunteers carry a register containing information regarding those agreeing to the campaign. "As soon as news of Anna Hazare's deteriorating health reached us, we decided to launch a signature campaign," said Mayank, a volunteer, who goes only by his first name.
According to the volunteers, on an average, more than 1,000 persons had lent support to the campaign within an hour. "So far, more than 5,000 persons have signed up. They are very worried about his health,” said Rajesh Kumar, another volunteer. "We don't want him to compromise with his health. He is the soul of the campaign," said Anand Singh, who hails from Rajasthan. On Tuesday, a team of doctors overseeing Hazare's health had expressed concern over his deteriorating health.
