Jasbir Singh, the US-based witness in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case involving former Union Minister and Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, has expressed his apprehension that there is a danger to his life if he visits India for recording his testimony.
Filing a petition before Justice SK Mishra, the witness sought direction to the CBI that his testimony be recorded in an American court or through videoconference.
Earlier, the CBI, following a trial court order directing it to re-investigate Tytler’s role, had issued notice to Singh on January 2 seeking his presence.
