Locals managed to catch the driver who was drunk,” a senior police officer said. The injured have been identified as Hem Lata, Neeraj, Riyazudidn and Sunny, who was driving the car.

Meanwhile, in another incident, two pedestrians were injured when a car hit before falling into a pit near Chattarpur Temple in south Delhi on Thursday morning. The victims, identified as Sunil and Ghanshyam, were walking towards the bus stop when a speeding Swift Dzire car hit them.

“The driver of the car lost balance when he saw a bike coming from the right side. In order to avoid hitting the bike, he rammed into pedestrians who were on his left. The car then fell into a pit dug up by DJB,” a police officer said. The driver of the car fled from the spot.
