The Class X Board exams kicked off to a smooth start on Wednesday, with most students saying that the Social Studies paper was “easy”.
“The paper was quite easy and the HOTS section was manageable. It was a thinking paper and a few civics questions were tricky. But one can easily score above 90,” said Raghav Gupta, student of Springdales School, Pusa Road.
Anubha Sharma of Tagore International School, East of Kailash said, “The paper was easy overall”. But some four markers and one markers were a little tricky.”
Teachers found the paper balanced.
“The paper was quiet up to the mark and there were not many HOTS questions. If I compare it with the previous year, this year’s social studies paper was simpler,” said Kavita Vagela, history teacher at Tagore International School, East of Kailash.
Lot of practice ensured that students sailed through HOTS, said Sangeeta Hasija, geography teacher at Springdales School, Pusa Road.
“The geography questions were direct and students were very happy with the paper. In fact, we had practiced the diagrammatic question in the HOTS section during the pre Board exam and were prepared,” said Hasija.
She added that the removal of disaster management questions made the paper easier.
“Usually there are eight marks on disaster management and students have a huge syllabus to study. But this year we had projects on disaster management instead of test question,” said Hasija.
