An early morning SMS on Saturday morning left students of B Com (programme) quite confused and worried. The message that was being circulate was regarding a change in the date sheet that they were not aware about.
“The messages said that our last examination, Hindi in my case, was scheduled for another date. We have no idea whether this is true and teachers were not able to tell us anything,” said Ayushi Saxena, a student at Gargi College.
The university has not been able to deal with the new semesterised calendar with ease, resulting in frequent changes in exam dates.
Earlier, the date sheet for MA English was changed six times before a final date sheet was declared just four days before the exams began. This, because under the new schedule the university exams, which are being conducted later than previous years, were clashing with other entrance exams.
While the university website had in a notification indicated the change in the B Com (Programme) date sheet, this was not communicated to many students.
“We heard about the change only on Saturday morning. We had got the printed date sheets earlier and most of our day was spent finding out if the date had actually been changed or not,” said Malini Shah, a student at Daulat Ram College.
The university officials said that every change in the date sheets will be notified on the university website.
“Students should check the university website, du.ac.in, in case they hear about any changes. We will put the information there,” said a senior university official.
For B Sc students as well, the date sheet had become a problem, when the date of the environmental studies examination was not declared in the final date sheet.
After a lot of ambiguity, the university notified that the exam would take place in the next semester.
