A technical snag in the automatic train protection system of a Delhi Metro train on the Jahangirpuri-HUDA City Centre line delayed services during the morning rush hour Friday, an official said.
The inconvenienced metro line, yellow line which connects Gurgaon to Delhi University North Campus, caters to over 8 lakh commuters a day. Hundreds of commuters, mostly office goers, were affected by the delay.
Rajiv Chowk metro station was jampacked and there were no announcements made to appease the troubled commuters.
"A technical issue was detected in the automatic train protection system of one of the trains which caused a pile up and other trains on the Yellow Line were forced to slow down," a Metro official said.
"The faulty train was later removed from the tracks and the services resumed," he added.
The metro service was disrupted for an hour starting 9am on Friday.
