Office-goers in large number were left stranded at Metro stations on Saturday morning, after trains on the Dwarka-Noida/ Anand Vihar line (Line 3) were delayed during peak office hours.
Trains on the Dwarka-Noida/ Anand Vihar line were delayed due to interlocking problems at Dwarka Sector 21 stations. This resulted in the loss of train identification numbers.
"If the identification number of trains is lost, it takes some time to rectify the problem and resume services," said a spokesperson of the DMRC.
"Though the problem was rectified in 15 minutes, the bunching of trains on Line 3 led to delays. Normalcy was restored after 40 minutes," he added.
"No trains were plying for almost 40 minutes and yet there was no announcement. There should have been some information at least," said Anita Mahajan, a resident of Dwarka, Sector 21.
This is not for the first time that services have been stalled and delayed due to loss of train identification numbers.
The loss of identification numbers has delayed Metro trains twice in the last two months.
