The other day I felt completely down and out. I sent an SMS to a friend, reflecting my mood status, "Life is all grief and pain, but blessed are those who can take piercing pain as mere tickling on their way." And added, "I am 'off' and was trying to figure out a way to connect myself with the soul of my wife. Having failed, I cried like a baby who has just lost his mother in a big crowd."
I wanted to write a little more but gave up because I was in tears. Later, when I managed to compose myself, I tried to recall the authors who have written about getting in touch with their dear ones no more around. The first that came to my mind was Lobzang Rampa, whose 'The Third Eye' I had read 30 years ago. Rampa had 'spent' the second part of his life in the body of a British man called Cyril Henry Hoskin, after his own body was diseased. If I recollect correctly, the book says it's possible, under certain circumstances, to be in touch with your 'long-gone' near and dear ones. One way is having dialogue through clairvoyance.
Of course, besides such authors, one could always depend, I thought, on the 'Tibetan Book of Living and Dying' by Sogyal Rinpoche. But it disappointed me as it didn't throw any light on 'Soul talk.' It does, however, say, that one can get into a "supreme seeing: Seeing what was not seen before." It explains, when you see what was not seen before, everything opens, expands and becomes clear, and all the limitations dissolve. But all this is possible only when one gets into a complete realisation of the nature of mind.
My point is there may or may not be what we call soul. But, if it is there, then one should be, under special circumstances, able to be in touch with it. The 'Coming Back – The Science of Reincarnation' by Swami Prabhupada, says that 'soul' is very much there. It has a 'secret journey' of reincarnation. But again silent on 'Soul talk.'
