A light fog cover in the national capital early on Sunday triggered delays in 26 trains and re-scheduling of nine others.
Flight operations at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, however, were normal, an official said.
According to a MeT department official, visibility was recorded at 800 metres at 5.30am at Safdarjung, while at Palam it dropped to as low as 400 metres.
“26 trains were running behind their respective schedules by several hours. Also, nine trains were required to be rescheduled due to poor visibility caused by the fog layer,” a railway official said.
The minimum temperature touched 7.2 degrees Celsius, which is a degree below normal for the ongoing season.
“The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 22 degrees Celsius during the day. On Saturday, the maximum was recorded at 24.4, a degree above normal for this time of the year, while minimum clocked 8.2 degrees,” the MeT official said.
The MeT department has predicted that the skies will be largely clear as the day progresses.
