A hardworking teacher who was dedicated to her ailing parents, Usha Yadav's family was yet to come to terms with her unfortunate fate a day after she fell to a hail of bullets on Friday evening.
"She wasn't romantically involved with anyone — be it Rajbeer or anyone else. All that mattered to my daughter was tending to her mother who has two dysfunctional kidneys and her younger brother who is working hard to become an IAS officer," her father Roshan Lal Yadav, who runs a small shop in the Swaroop Nagar area, said.
Usha, who used to juggle a teaching job with tuitions after completing a bachelor's degree in education from Delhi University's Miranda House last year, had accidentally encountered the killers.
The livid duo's first task had been an attempted bid on his elder brother Kishan Sharma's life at his residence — located a few metres away from his own. Kishan had been the 'biggest beneficiary of the division of property between four brothers and apparently owed his Rajbir Rs 2 lakh. Meanwhile, police said, Rajbeer's wife Pooja and his accomplice, Manish, are critical at the Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital.
