BJP's first conclave after Rajnath Singh took charge began Friday, with all eyes on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi's future role ahead of the 2014 polls.

In his speech, Singh - who has made it clear that the decision for the PM's post will be taken later - praised Modi.

Phone-tapping row was also raised at the meet.

Senior leader Sudhanshu Mittal said that even his call detail records had been sought, adding that while he had met the accused Anurag Singh, he was shocked that such an amiable and educated man could be such a conspirator.
