Tarveen suri has asked a colleague of her husband to arrange a ticket for Goa for her, so she can check whether her husband was actually on a business tour, reports Vijaita Singh.

Tarveen suri, who was attacked by two unidentified assailants on Saturday night at her Greater Kailash residence, had asked a colleague of her husband to arrange a ticket for Goa for her, so she could check whether her husband was actually on a business tour, the police said on Thursday.

Naveen Suri, the victim’s husband, had left for Goa on August 5 to attend a conference and was to return on August 22. The police said his colleague Rachna Brahmwar also had plans to go to Goa, but had cancelled her plans as Tarveen found out about it. Rachna then left for Kochi with her sister.

“Tarveen asked Rajeev Sharma, a colleague of Naveen’s, to arrange a ticket for Goa so she could go and check on her husband,” said a senior police officer.

The police interrogated Rajeev Sharma, a close friend of both Naveen and Rachna, at length on Wednesday but his involvement in the attack has been ruled out.

“When we were interrogating Rajeev, he told us Naveen had asked him not to let us know about his strained relations with his wife. We will question Naveen on this aspect and find out what it is that he wants to hide,” added the officer.

The police said Naveen had told Rajeev and another friend from college, Sameer, that he wanted to get rid of Tarveen. Naveen had met Rachna seven months ago and he reportedly planned to leave his wife and settle down with her.

“Naveen wanted to separate from his wife but she was not ready to do that. They had regular fights because of this,” added the officer.

Tarveen, however, gave a statement to the police that she had a cordial relationship with her husband.

The police interrogated both Naveen and Rachna again on Thursday at the CR Park police station.

A police officer said Naveen had purchased a separate SIM card to call Rachna while he was in Goa and they were regularly in touch. Rachna reportedly started going around with Naveen after she broke up with her boyfriend.

Two weeks before Saturday’s incident, Tarveen had gone to Rachna’s house to talk to the latter’s father about his daughter’s relationship with her husband, said the police.

Rachna’s father has maintained his daughter is innocent and added Tarveen even tried to commit suicide two weeks ago.
