Team Anna on Sunday organised a candlelight march in New Delhi and demanded a proper investigation into the mysterious death of Right To Information (RTI) activist Ravinder Balwani in April.

After the march at Jantar Mantar, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal said: “Police must conduct proper inquiry into the mysterious death of RTI activist Balwani. Police must not leave the investigation in the case incomplete saying that it is a hit-and-run accident.”

The death of Balwani as a unfortunate incident as he was leading a war against corruption, he said.

Senior advocate Shanti Bhushan, a member of Team Anna, also took part in the march and demanded justice for Balwani, who was hit by a speeding car April 23. He died in hospital.

Balwani retired in 2010 from the Delhi government-owned power utility Transco. He joined NGO Parivartan as an RTI activist and exposed corruption in power deals.
