According to Dr Vasant Matsagar, these objects can be mounted on sliding frames, energy dissipating rubber pads and energy dissipating cables to reduce the impact.

“It takes away the force of the earthquake and leaves behind just a harmless horizontal motion. At times of crisis, the communication servers topple over, snapping communication lines,” Dr Matsagar said.
