A 15-year-old Class 10 student of a public school, whose father had scolded him for smoking, has gone missing from his school in east Delhi’s Madhu Vihar three days ago.

According to police, though the boy left the home on his own wish, they have registered a case of kidnapping since he is a minor. The boy’s father is posted in the gardening department in the US embassy and the family lives in Fatehpur Beri area in south Delhi, police said.

On October 12, the boy had left his home for school in Madhu Vihar. In the evening, he did not turn up and the family got worried. They enquired from the school management that told them that he had come to the school but left early. The matter was brought into the notice of Fatehpur Beri police which informed Madhu Vihar police.

Further investigation revealed that the boy was angry with his father who had scolded him for smoking a couple of days back.

Police said, a day after he went missing, the boy telephoned someone in his family and claimed he had gone to his relative’s house. However, he could not be traced till late Saturday evening.
