The five-member committee headed by former Supreme Court Judge B N Srikrishna, which held its fifth meeting here today, also ruled out extending the April 10 deadline for political parties and other organisations to submit their representations.

"Officially we are not going to extend the deadline. But if some people want to give their views after that they can give. Some people have asked for the representations to be submitted after the deadline due to some unavoidable circumstances. We will accept those," Member-Secretary Vinod K Duggal told reporters after the meeting.

Justice Sri Krishna said the full committee, which has been mandated to look into demands for a separate Telangana state as well as a united Andhra Pradesh, would hear a delegation from the TRS, spearheading the agitation for a separate state, on April 16 in New Delhi.

"All committee members would be present and we would give a patient hearing. All issues can be discussed," he said.

Asked about the size of the delegation, Duggal said it was up to TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao to decide.

"He will decide on the size of the delegation or how many people he has to bring."

Srikrishna said the panel has enough material to analyse on various issues with respect to the statehood demand as it has received over 60,000 representations from across Andhra Pradesh.

He also said the committee has been receiving separate memorandums and representations from political parties and the response was over-whelming.

Duggal said the committee would hold discussions with four parties on April 22 and 23 in Hyderabad.

"All these parties have told us that they would be happy if we can meet them in Hyderabad. So, we will be meeting them there. Most of them would give us a presentation."

He said the committee has already began its analysis work and some of its members would try to visit parts of Andhra Pradesh and interact with people on the statehood issue.
