Three dead in 3 separate road accidents

Three persons lost their lives in three separate accidents in the city in the last 24 hours. In the first accident, a 21-year-old biker — Pradeep Kumar — died after being hit by a fire brigade vehicle in northeast Delhi's Sultanpuri area on Wednesday afternoon.

Three persons lost their lives in three separate accidents in the city in the last 24 hours. In the first accident, a 21-year-old biker — Pradeep Kumar — died after being hit by a fire brigade vehicle in northeast Delhi's Sultanpuri area on Wednesday afternoon.

"A fire brigade vehicle hit Pradeep's bike, after which he fell and came under its rear wheels. He was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead," said a senior police officer requesting anonymity.

In the second incident, the helper of a truck died when the vehicle he was travelling in rammed into a pillar near Moolchand Underpass.

"A PCR call about the accident was made at 2.48am. The helper, identified as Premchand, fell out of the truck after it hit the pillar and was crushed under its rear wheel," said a police officer.

In the third mishap, a 25-year-old pedestrian died when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Anand Vihar area of east Delhi. The victim, Pankaj, was was a resident of Khichdipur and was crossing the road at 9.30pm on Tuesday when he was hit by a speeding vehicle. "He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries," said a police officer.
