Three DMK ministers -- SS Palanimanickam, S Gandhiselvan, S Jagatrakshakan -- on Wednesday submitted their resignations from the government to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh but MK Alagiri was conspicuous by his absence.

The resignations of the three ministers comes a day after DMK pulled out from the Union government expressing dismay over its "soft stand" on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.

"They (Alagiri and Napolean) will submit their resignations later," DMK leader TR Baalu said when asked about their absence.
