The Southeast Delhi Police have nabbed five people, including three juveniles, for allegedly sodomising and then murdering a 16-year-old boy.
The accused beat the Class 7 student and then stoned him to death, police said. The victim had reportedly protested.
Police have arrested Yunus Khan (25) and Mukesh Kumar (20) and sent the three juveniles have been sent to an observation home. The body of the boy was found on Monday near Giri Nagar Mosque in Tuglakabad area.
“There were injury marks on the face. The victim’s father had told the police that his son was missing since Sunday night and that he (father) had been trying to locate him (victim) by asking his friends who live near Kalkaji temple. It was found that the victim was last seen with Yunus, Mukesh and the three juveniles,” said Virender Singh Chahal, ACP (southeast).
The police said the accused had called the victim on the pretext of visiting the Kalkaji temple. They then took the victim to a DDA Park, where they started beating him up. They also snatched his cell phone, the police said. “They sodomised him and then, in order to silence his protest, killed him by hitting him with stones,” added Chahal.
Yunus had snatched the victim’s cell phone and forced him to undress if he wanted his phone back. The police have registered the case against the accused.
