They created a sense of fear among the women by committing daylight robberies on city roads. But before they could be titled as the most dreaded gang, a team of the north district police apprehended three members of the gang on Friday.

Shailender alias Sonu, 32, Sidhant Verma, 32 and Pramod alias Mukhiya Ji, 25, were arrested for their alleged involvement in a series of robberies, including the sensational robbery in northwest Delhi's Shakti Nagar in which a woman and her daughter-in-law were robbed of their jewellery at gun point. Three country-made pistols, one car and some looted jewellery were recovered from them, police said.

Taj Hasan, joint commissioner of police (central range) said, "The gang members were so notorious that they used to fire bullets in the air to scare the women. They executed their plans in bikes. The pillion rider used to terrify the victim by firing in the air before robbing them of their belongings. The second motorcycle was used as a cover to the other offenders."

According to Hasan the gang members had targeted three women within a gap of few hours and robbed them of their jewellery on March 24.

Sidhant was involved in 8 cases of robbery and 19 cases of snatching besides a case registered under the Gangster Act in UP. Sonu has cases registered against him in Delhi and UP.
