Delhiites may have had enough of the fog but weather gods are not done yet.
The Met department predicted more fog this week, as the chances of snowfall and rain in the hilly states have increased.
With moisture in the air, and the cloud cover keeping the atmosphere still, the formation of fog was imminent, said the National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting on Sunday.
“To make matters even worse, there are indications of some thundershowers in Delhi later this week. If that happens, then there will not be much respite from this weather next week as well,” said a senior Met official.
With the haze refusing to lift throughout the day, the fun in winter is gone, say Delhiites. “Cannot enjoy this weather.
Half of the energy goes into finding ways to shield ourselves,” said Parul Khanna, a housewife in New Friends Colony.
Septuagenarian Rajendra Sethi, who spends most of his winter afternoons at Lodhi Garden every year, said he might have to take a rare break this year. “It is not enjoyable as the nagging wind and the strange grayness are a spoiler,” he said.
The minimum temperature settled at 8.1 degrees Celsius on Sunday, three degrees warmer than Saturday.
