Glamorous costumes and innovative themes defined the prelims for Trendsetters, the fashion show at HT City Youth Nexus.

Students looked nothing short of professional models as they walked the ramp at the prelims of Trendsetters - the fashion show at HT City Youth Nexus 2013. Themes such as Nirvana, Shades of life and death, Five elements of nature and Bohemian culture were highlighted through innovative costumes by six teams.

The event, supported by Fever Entertainment, saw the creative side of college students by experimenting with Khajuraho prints, silk saris and skirts with crystal embellishments. And the ramp walk was supported by popular tracks such as Desert Rose by Sting, In for the Kill by La Roux, and Hare Krishna Hare Ram by Asha Bhosle. The top teams made their way to the grand finale.

Uprising, the street play competition (prelims) at HT City Youth Nexus, was all about socially-relevant themes and entertaining acts

Budding theatre actors braved the afternoon heat to take part in the prelims for Uprising - the street play competition at HT City Youth Nexus 2013. Each of the 10 participating teams had a different, socially-relevant message to give out through their act.

Painted faces and beats of dholak and daflis added to the mood of the event, supported by Fever Entertainment. The street play of Gargi College portrayed cruelty towards animals, while PGDAV’s act talked about sex education still being a hush hush topic in the Indian society.

The production by Shivaji College emphasised on the atrocities and trouble faced by tribal communities. The final five teams which impressed the jury with their bold acts, got to enter the grand finale.
