If you are planning to visit the trade fair on the weekend but are uncertain about the availability of tickets at the counters, then just tune in to the radio.

In a first, the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) will be giving updates on tickets availability on FM channels during the weekend.

“Tickets get exhausted early in the day, especially during the weekends, causing great inconvenience to people who have reached the venue. So, we have decided to announce updates on private FM channels so people get information sitting at home,” said a senior ITPO official.

This is the last weekend before the fair closes and the organisers expect heavy crowds on the last two days.

Besides this, the IITF Facebook page is also being updated regularly to inform people about ticket availability.

Organisers have put a cap on one lakh tickets. Though the closing time of official ticket counters at Metro stations and ITPO on weekend is 2pm, but tickets get exhausted within a few hours of the opening of the counters.

On Friday, 1.05 lakh people from Delhi and neighbouring towns visited the trade fair. ITPO officials said almost same number of people had to go back disappointed, as tickets were sold out before noon.

During the last weekend, ticket counters were shut before noon at several Metro stations.

“We foresee a lot of rush at Pragati Maidan and we want to make sure that people who come to fair manage to see it,” said PC Sharma, general manager, publicity, ITPO. Along with this, ITPO is also advising visitors not to bring infants along for a hassle-free visit.

ITPO organisers are already giving ticket and entry updates inside Metro trains and stations.
