Delhi Police on Sunday claimed to have busted a gang which was into producing fake driving licences and recovered stamps of different transport authorities from their possession. Rakesh (42) and Uman Sharma (39), both residents of Paschim Puri, have been arrested, police said.

Acting on information, police identified two persons who easily provide forged driving licences of any transport authority of India at minimum cost.

“A policeman was decoyed as a fake customer who contacted the gang and asked for a driving license and they took only a photograph of him and within few minutes they came back with forged driving license of Karnal Authority and while receiving the payment for the forged driving license both were caught red-handed,” a senior police official said.

The accused had been operating this racket for the last seven years across India. “They further disclosed that more than 1,000 forged driving licenses have been supplied by them till now and mostly the drivers of heavy vehicles are their customers and for the last one year they have been operating in Delhi only at TPT Centre, Punjabi Bagh & Sanjay Gandhi Transport Centre," the official said.
