Two held in Sonia Vihar murder case

The two accused in the murder of Kamal Singh Rawat (20), a B.Com final year student in Delhi University’s Khalsa College, were arrested from South Delhi on July 13.
Police arrested Bachchan Singh Nagar (23) and Umesh Kumar (22) for allegedly murdering Rawat.
However, two more accused in the case, Praveen and Jagmat are still absconding.
According to police, the two were trying to escape from Delhi as the police as well as local residents of Sonia Vihar area were on their trail.
According to police, the two accused had gone to a relative's house in Mehrauli to arrange for money to leave the city.
“They had approached one of their relatives in the Mehrauli area for arranging money for them,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) HGS Dhaliwal.
“We laid a trap around Andheria More and Mehrauli. Around 9.15 pm on July 13, both Bachchan Nagar and his friend Umesh reached a bus stand near Andheria More, where they were apprehended by the police,” Dhaliwal added.
Police said Bachchan presently owns a travel agency in Sonia Vihar. His father was an ex-havaldar in the Army.
He was previously involved in a criminal case following a quarrel with his neighbours in 2008.
Umesh is pursuing BCA degree from Sikkim Manipal University at Kamla Nagar Study Centre. He earns his livelihood by giving private tuitions from his house in Sonia Vihar.
His father is a tailor. The murder had taken place in Sonia Vihar on July 12.
