Police said the infant was with her nanny when her neighbour Sonu (18) came and took the baby for a stroll. He allegedly raped her and later brought her home.

"The incident came to light when the child fell ill and the family admitted her to a hospital. The hospital authorities informed the police about the incident yesterday," a senior police official said. Sonu was arrested and a case of rape was registered against him.

In another case, a five-year-old girl was raped by a middle-aged driver here. The incident took place in KN Katju Marg on Thursday. The child's mother is a domestic help.

The accused lured the girl, took her in his car and then raped her. The incident came to light when the girl narrated the incident to her parents who then approached the police.
