The Cabinet is expected to consider amendments to Marriage Law (Amendment) Bill on Wednesday in a bid to satisfy the opposition and see it through Parliament.

Government sources said that the six-month cooling period may be re-introduced in the bill on insistence of the opposition.

The much delayed FM policy for expansion of radio service to smaller towns and cities in its phase-III will also on the Cabinet’s agenda.

A group of ministers have recently approved e-auction of 839 radio stations over coming objections by the telecom ministry.

The GoM instructed the telecom ministry to release additional spectrum to the I&B ministry and the auction is estimated to fetch Rs 5,000 crore.

The Cabinet will also consider amendment in law to impose a total ban on manual scavenging with punishment for forcing someone to perform the derogatory act.
