A 50% hike in foreign direct investments, probity in public life, a record Rs 33,000-crore central assistance to states and farm loans of Rs 1 lakh crore will be the cornerstones of the UPA's Report to the People to be released on Tuesday.

A Congress leader said these four aspects demonstrated the government’s success in leading the country through difficult global situations in terms of retaining foreign investor confidence, reaching out to farmers and putting the common man at the heart of the UPA’s people-centric approach.

The report for the UPA's third year will be released jointly by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

Apart from the IMF's projection of India as the second-fastest growing economy in the world after China, the report will list steps taken to check corruption, a white paper on black money, a hike in the MSP of agriculture produce and measures to contain rising inflation.
